Report on the 2007 Reunion and Official Opening of Hampton High Reserve

On Sunday 11 November, 2007, approx 120 former students of Hampton High School, now known as the "Old Hamptonians" took advantage of the fine weather. Quite a change from the earlier function held in 2005 when the heavens opened. Today was very different, and visitors started to arrive from 11.30 am, and most stayed for several hours.

The BBQ was well patronised, also the mini raffle, and we acknowledge the following local traders for the many prizes which were donated and gratefully received :-

Southern Meats                           Camille Fashions                Coachmans  Menswear
Superior Office Supplies            Ilana Jewellery                     Hampton Newsagency
Latinos Restaurant                      Hampton Fruit Centre        Beach Road Clothing

Please give our donors your support when shopping in the local area.

It was pleasing to see many people simply strolling the grounds to check on their pavers, also purchasing memorabilia, including the specially designed Old Hamptonians caps and jackets.

Membership renewals were made, and steady orders for pavers and the archive CDs were received.

Some people mentioned that not all year groups were not shown in greater detail  on the CDs. This is because we do not have YOUR pictures to include on them. If you could send whatever pics you have with details where possible to our secretary (see front page), then that is a start and when we update the CDs, they will be included  ...... simple huh !!

Vice President Joan Bennett (nee Crocker) introduced former president Geoff Grant who officially opened the proceedings, and introduced the guests Our local member Louise Asher MLA Brighton officially opened the Hampton High Reserve, and other official guests were:-  Murray Thompson - MLA Sandringham, John Knight - Mayor City of Bayside, James Long and Noel Pullen - City of Bayside
